ABPmer to advise Skandia Team GBR

ABP Marine Environmental Research (ABPmer), a leading marine environmental consultancy, has been commissioned to provide specialist advice to Skandia Team GBR, the British Sailing Team in the Olympic and Paralympic Classes.

Skandia Team GBR consists of three squads; the Performance Squad and Development and Transitional squads, which jointly total around 70 sailors.   These squads are supported, advised and coached by over 35 specialist staff.

Bill Cooper, Director ABPmer, said “ABPmer will be supporting Skandia Team GBR’s medal hopefuls by providing specialist marine environmental predictions to help maximise their performance during training and at the many sailing events being held over the next few years at the Weymouth Olympic venue.”

ABPmer will work closely with the Skandia Team GBR coaches and athletes and has already provided support to Team GBR in the Skandia ‘Sail for Gold’ regatta this September, a World Championship event where the team landed the largest medal haul of any nation participating.
