ABP Marine Environmental Research (ABPmer) has welcomed a number of new members of staff across four specialist teams:
Nicola Goodwyn joins the ABPmer Data Team from Hampshire & Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology. Nicola is a GIS specialist with both commercial and research experience in marine GIS. She has extensive experience in archaeological impact assessments, Windfarm EIAs, intertidal survey, and marine geophysical survey. She will be involved in a variety of projects ranging from the contaminated sediments development framework, polluting wrecks database, and will be available to provide advice on any other archaeology related projects.
Anna Payne returns to the ABPmer Modelling Team, from Scott Wilson. Anna is a Chartered Marine Scientist with over 4 years consultancy experience in modelling estuaries and the coastal environment. She specialises in marine renewable energy projects in addition to having worked on a variety of other modelling studies including the design of offshore breakwaters, land reclamation developments, optimising harbour designs, managed realignments, sediment plume studies, strategic flood risk assessments and water quality flushing studies.
Caroline Roberts has joined the Environment Team as a researcher, she has a background, and doctorate, in biomedical science and has worked previously for Marine Conservation Society and the Devon Wildlife Trust. She will be supporting a wide range of the projects being undertaken by the team in particular ecological investigations linked to marine renewable energy and
managed realignment projects.
Heidi Roberts is a principal consultant in the Processes Team with a speciality in flood and coastal management. Joining us from Atkins, Heidi has over 12 years consultancy experience including environmental impact assessment and habitat creation. She will be managing habitat creation projects and flood management strategies.
Michele Vittorio is an experienced Geographical Information System (GIS) analyst and joins the Data Team where he will specialise in data analysis and presentation, geo-database maintenance and planning and development of GIS projects. His vast experience with Italian organisations has involved Marine Protected Area planning projects and marine habitat surveys for mainly European clients, including government agencies and oil companies.
